Kelly has three grown up children and has been a home based educator for 19 years. She enjoys welcoming families and their tamariki into her beautiful spacious home.
Kelly's curriculum includes daily excursions into the wider community in the morning which include playgroups, music, gym. museums, playgrounds and nature reserves. Afternoons are a quiet time spent at home to allow younger tamariki to rest while older children often learn through puzzles, crafts, games and free play. Books are a part of the daily curriculum for all ages.
Kelly loves nature and the outdoors and on their trips to parks and the forest she encourages children to care for and respect the natural world. Kelly has a little terrier, Jazzy and two cats.
"Kindness to people and animals is important to me and this respectful practice is embedded in all my teaching and learning."
Kelly enjoys taking part in experiences with the wider group of Pioneers home based educators where there are great opportunities for tamariki to develop friendships and learn together.
